Mrs. Crass “Hooks” Students in Writing

Posted Date: 09/05/2019

CrassMrs. Crass taught her students to engage their reader by embedding a “hook” into their writing. This gets their reader excited to keep reading. To get students thinking about how they could hook their readers, fifth graders fished for leads/beginnings and sorted them according to what type they were: action, dialogue, question, feeling, description, sound. This lesson was probably one they will never forget!
