Science in Action at Springhill
We are excited to announce that Springhill was just awarded the Science in Action Grant which will provide new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) resources for our 3rd-5th grade students. Nicole Martin, the new Science Specialist at the UCA STEM Institute, wrote last week to inform us that the materials we requested through the grant (which total $3,000) will be fully funded. When the supplies come in, UCA will set up specialized professional development sessions with our staff in order to maximize the potential of the resources provided through the grant. STEM education is becoming a vital component of instruction in order to prepare our students for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Our teachers are constantly striving to provide students with relevant learning opportunities that will prepare them to be successful in school and beyond. The materials provided through the Science in Action Grant will help our teachers continue to make these types of learning opportunities possible.
